Bruce enjoys easy access to courts not only in Nassau and Suffolk Counties but also in all of New York City and, as necessary, in other parts of New York State. Bruce is admitted to all courts of record in New York, the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Southern District of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Bruce's experience includes representing New York City's poor in actions to obtain better housing, health care, and food for deprived familites. As an associate with a firm representing New York City police officers, Bruce defended the rights of officers in Federal and State courts. He has argued appeals not only before the Appellate Divisions in the First and Second Deparments but also in New York's highest court, the Court of Appeals, and the Federal Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He also was the attorney who formed the familiar "COPSHOT" corporation which offers a reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone shooting a New York City Police Officer.
Bruce's background includes training at the prestigious National Insititute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) where practicing lawyers are taught the fine nuances of litigation, and he has completed forty hours of mediation training which made him eligible to be a memeber of the Association for Conflict Resolution. Bruce has edited some nineteen Articles of Bender's Forms For the Civil Practice, Bender's Forms of Pleading, and Bender's Forms For the Consolidated Laws.
Bruce is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association, and Iota Theta Law Fraternity.
Bruce devotes his career to providing his clients with effective, personalized service and representation. He is personable, compassionate, and sensitive to each client's emotional and financial situation. Bruce is married, and he is the father of three children. He and his wife, Helene, live on Long Island where they are involved in various communal activities and programs.
